A mom of twins that dreamed to be submerged in style, dressed head to toe in the softest fabrics, sipping tea with some of the greatest classic icons, while we laugh at an “inside joke that only besties do…my bubble is suddenly popped when I hear “mama where are you?” coming from the other room.
… so here I stand, still for the taste of ALL and everything style related on a broke girls budget.
This is my outlet to feed my once was “affordable soul” ….B.C. (before children) I LOVE the time with my Dear daughter’s but, lets be honest… mama needs to indulge every once in awhile.
BUT, there will be no tears shed for me and my pity party because, I still make it happen.
I’d like to thank all and every second hand stores, thrift, consignment, offeredup app, neighborhood app, and facebook marketplace app, for providing me with the access to still indulge in one of my many guilty pleasures at a reasonable price virtually (excludes thrift of course)
I must say, I take pride in finding good finds at second hand stores. The only problem for me is that, I can find use in just about everything. I’m sure we can all relate.
Good finds that go with just about anything
- jeans (my salvation army has 50% off clothing, check out your area and call to see when their sale is.)
- graphic tees (*feel the fabric with these though. That’s where I loose my mind..if it has those pilly little balls on them, pass.)
- flowy tops
- sweaters
- cigarette pants
- trouser/ flowy pants (oh so comfy.)
And if you don’t know..now you know! You’re welcome.
I love the quality in a piece like every one of us out there does.
When it comes to thrift shopping for clothes..keep in mind, the feel of the garment. If it does not feel comfy, cozy chances are the quality, speaks for itself…move on to the next piece.
I am big on layering always have and always will. If I am not wearing it as part of an outfit then a sweater is tied around my waste, or a flannel shirt/ blazer unbuttoned will do. or if layering with a sweater always having the shirt a little longer then the sweater. My mom would call my look un-kept. I call it fashion..all about perspective, right.
When wearing either skinny pants or a tighter top always, make sure that you are balancing out the other part.
For instance, when wearing a top that hugs you in all the right places, go with looser pants (boyfriend jeans, trouser pants one size bigger) makes it seem like you aren’t trying to hard.
Reality dosen’t impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape one way or another. No more walls.”
